Announcing Our New Solar Super Jets

We are excited to be adding the Solar Super Jet hull to our AwaJets packages. This will be available from October 2024 (date TBC) as complete packages with your choice of engine plus any extras you want included.

Like the Sola Strela the Solar Super Jet is a 470 hull, but with a few subtle differences…

Flat Bottom Hull

The Strela has a v-shape hull which is great for manoeuvrability but does mean it has a slightly deeper draft so the Strela is fantastic for jet boating up rivers, as long as there is enough water. For some areas, this means our jet boaters can’t use their boats in summer because the water is too low.

For hunters wanting to navigate shallower rivers or with home rivers that dry up in the summer season, we can now offer the Super Jet as the ideal option for these environments.

Water Channels

The Super Jet has a flat bottom which not only makes it ideal for extra shallow rivers but also gives extra stability as the hull cannot roll from side to side. There are also two channels that run the length of the hull on the Super Jet. These effectively gather and drive any available water down through to the waterjet which then allows you to drive the boat through minimal water.

There may be times when the raised parts of the channels are actually skimming across the river bed but as long as there is water to push through the channel tunnels then you will be able to continue to ride your boat up river.

The Right Boat for You

With the addition of the Super Jet to our range we can now offer to very different options to suit two very different hunting & fishing environments and conditions.

Solar Strela - If you are mostly wanting to get up river quickly and easily plus likely to be navigating some chop or rapids then the Strela is the best boat for you.
Solar Super Jet - If you are mostly navigating through calmer waters but wanting to access shallower rivers or you are based in an area that has an extended dry season then the Super Jet is going to be ideal for you.

I have completed the two hours on the initial running in at half throttle of the motor and am looking forward to the power that I feel the engine can produce in making a safe trip in the river when I have to open it up. Best thing my husband has ever brought. My husband and I were privileged to be able to hunt with Gary on his boat and what an awesome experience it was. We were able to penetrate deep into the Ngahere via the river. We quickly accessed the good hunting spots. These spots would normally take a long day of walking to access.

The boat managed the problematic areas of the river with ease and our comfort was not compromised. The boat was more than capable of the payload of 3 people, 3 dogs, and our hunting gear. Not to mention our harvested quarry on the return trip home.
